Winter’s Bite Fails To Slow Homebuilders

Despite bad weather in the eastern U.S., the outlook for housing stocks is bright. Housing starts for February were just 897,000 units, well short of the estimate for 1.081 million and 17% below January’s mediocre number. But building permits were a strong 1.092 million units vs. estimates of 1.04 million. That speaks well for the future once the eastern seaboard thaws out.
