Two months after Microsoft ended support for Windows XP, 25% of PC users are still on the 12-year-old operating system. On April 8, Microsoft (MSFT) stopped providing security updates and bug fixes for the venerable operating system. It urged PC users to move to more secure and modern operating systems like Windows 7 or 8. But the holdouts have been slow to make the switch. In March, 27.7% of PC users on the Internet were using Windows XP, according to Net Applications. In April, that number dipped only slightly, to 26.3%. And in May it was 25.3%, Net Applications said Sunday. Apparently, Windows XP users are comfortable with their older machines and think they are good enough to get the job done.
