Uber Technologies — the San Francisco-based ride-hailing company that has embarked on a global expansion effort — could run into a formidable rival from China right at home. China’s largest taxi-hailing app, Didi Kuaidi, has quietly begun hiring in the U.S. in advance of an incursion onto Uber’s home turf, according to a media report.
