Governments, businesses and consumers are keeping makers of video surveillance gear very busy. The global market for video surveillance equipment was worth $15 billion by the end of 2014, up 11% from $13.5 billion in 2013. By 2018, worldwide revenue could reach $23.6 billion, equivalent to a five-year compound annual growth rate of 12%, research firm IHS (IHS) reported Wednesday.
