Twitter (TWTR) opened an office in Hong Kong, its first in Greater China, looking for deals with Chinese businesses despite a ban on the mainland. The short-message social network hasn’t been allowed to operate in China since 2009, amid government concerns about keeping a tight grip on information. But Twitter hopes to do business with Chinese companies operating outside the U.S. — perhaps with an entertainment focus — rather than a bid for its Scalper1 News
