While retailers continue to face an increasingly promotional environment ahead of the holiday shopping season, a new study shows just how much they might have to compete with Amazon (AMZN) on price. The e-commerce giant’s prices are 6% lower on average than in-store items, according to a William Blair e-commerce survey, and prices are 8% lower when more than one item is purchased.
