Tencent (TCEHY) and Alibaba (BABA) are Chinese Internet archrivals. But increasingly, they’re taking their strategy of forging key alliances to overseas. And they’re keeping it entertaining. Tencent, best known for its WeChat and QQ messaging services, Tencent will pay The Hollywood Reporter to license its entertainment news content in a multiyear deal, the Hollywood Reporter said Tuesday.
