After eight consecutive months of year-over-year growth, U.S. retail sales of video game products dipped slightly in October. Game software sales were down 27% from the same month last year, the marketing research company NPD Group reported late Thursday. A drop in the number of games being released for previous-generation consoles hurt sales of new software at retail, NPD analyst Liam Callahan said in a statement.
