Rackspace Falls After Q1 Results Raise Uncertainty

Rackspace Hosting (RAX) was downgraded by Morgan Stanley and received several price target cuts following its disappointing first-quarter earnings and guidance late Monday. After the market close Monday, Rackspace reported Q1 revenue that missed estimates. Its Q2 revenue forecast also missed views. Rackspace Q1 Revenue, Outlook Light; Stock Plunges

Rackspace Hosting (RAX) stock plunged in after-hours trading Monday after the Web hosting and cloud services provider reported Q1 revenue that missed estimates, as did its Q2 revenue forecast. San Antonio-based Rackspace said that its Q1 earnings rose 9% from the year-earlier quarter to 20 cents per share, in line with views. For the current quarter, Rackspace forecast revenue growth in a range of “1.5% and 2.5% on a constant currency basis,”

Rackspace Growth Seen Slowing In Q1

Rackspace Hosting (RAX) is expected to show slower year-over-year EPS and revenue growth when it reports Q1 financials after the close Monday, with the company no longer breaking out its cloud computing and Web hosting sales separately.
