NXP Semiconductors Guidance Beats But Stock Falls

NXP Semiconductors (NXPI) late Wednesday reported Q3 earnings and revenue that topped Wall Street estimates, and its Q4 guidance also beat, but its stock fell Thursday. NXP expects earnings per share excluding items of $1.26 to $1.36 for the current quarter on revenue of $1.48 billion to $1.54 billion. NXP Secure Mobile Payment Chips Seen Hiking Revenue

Analysts look for NXP Semiconductors (NXPI) to benefit from its technology geared to secure mobile payments and to electronics that help cars communicate, when the Dutch chipmaker reports Q3 earnings after the close Wednesday. The company is expected to post earnings per share minus items of $1.31, on $1.5 billion in revenue, according to analysts polled by Thomson Reuters. That would be up 54% and 21%, respectively, from the year-earlier quarter.
