Martha Stewart says 3D print your napkin rings
Just in time for Thanksgiving dinner, domestic diva Martha Stewart has teamed with 3D printer maker Stratasys (SSYS) to let people make custom napkin rings, coasters and other table trinkets in her signature colors. Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia (MSO) on Monday announced an exclusive agreement with MakerBot, a unit of Stratasys, to distribute 3D printing materials and develop 3D printable designs. As part of the collaboration, MakerBot will distribute a collection of Martha Stewart-branded PLA plastic filament to make 3D printed objects. The Martha Stewart for MakerBot Filament initially will come in three colors: Lemon Drop, Robin’s Egg and Jadeite. That’s light yellow, blue and green to the unsophisticated. The first 3D printed objects available from the MakerBot online store as part of the arrangement are a napkin ring, coaster, place card holder and flameless LED votive candle holder.
