Send a text message.

To start a conversation in Messages, tap . Tap to choose a contact or enter a phone number or email address manually. Type your message, then tap Send. Note: An alert badge appears if a message can’t be sent. Tap the alert to try sending again.

Erase your iPhone remotely.

If your iPhone is lost or stolen, you can erase it remotely. Sign in to Find My iPhone and select the device. Tap to see your options. Tap Erase iPhone. If your iPhone is online, remote erase begins within seconds. If your iPhone is offline, the erase will begin next time it’s online. Note: If you erase your iPhone, you won’t be able to use Find My iPhone to locate or protect it, but your Apple ID and password will be required to reactivate it. More: Find My iPhone overview

Lock and track your iPhone remotely.

If you can’t find your iPhone, use Lost Mode right away to lock and track it. Sign in to Find My iPhone and select the device you want. Tap to see your options. Tap Lost Mode and follow the onscreen instructions. iPhone locks immediately if it’s online. If not, locking and tracking will take effect the next time it’s online. More: Find My iPhone overview
