Alphabet Begins With Google, In Google Restructuring

Google late Monday announced a corporate restructuring that includes a new name — Alphabet — for the overall corporation. The Google (GOOGL) business — including search, YouTube, Android and most of the existing company — will be the biggest company within Alphabet. Mobileye Collision-Avoidance Technology Accelerates

Mobileye, a leading provider of driver-assistance technology that could help lead to self-driving cars, topped expectations with its second-quarter earnings Thursday and raised its full-year guidance. Before the market open, Mobileye (MBLY) reported revenue of $52.8 million, beating Wall Street’s consensus estimate of $47.9 million. It was up 57% from the year-earlier quarter and ahead of 28% and 26% year-over-year gains the two previous quarters.

Fitbit Races Past Q2 Forecasts, But Stock Tuckers Out

Wearable fitness device maker Fitbit is prepping for a big second half of the year after crushing Wall Street’s second-quarter sales and earnings targets late Wednesday. Fitbit (FIT) guided Wall Street analysts higher for Q3 and 2015. Some investors wanted more from the IPO highflier, however. Fitbit stock was down more than 14% in after-hours trading, after its earnings release. Fitbit stock hit a record high of 51.90 on Wednesday ahead of the
