Fitbit’s not-so-secret weapon: Women

Ladies love their Fitbit (FIT) fitness trackers. That’s the not-so-surprising finding of a study released Tuesday by Piper Jaffray. Smart wearables, such as the Apple (AAPL) Watch, will surpass basic wearables, such as Fitbit (FIT) activity trackers, in shipments by 2018, a new report by research firm IDC predicts. Fitbit (FIT) got its second bullish report in as many days on Wednesday, sending its shares higher. FBN Securities analyst Shebly Seyrafi initiated coverage of Fitbit with an outperform rating and a price target of 50.
