Apple in talks with TV programmers for Internet service

Apple (AAPL) has been trying for years to break into the Internet television business with plans to offer a package of basic cable channels that could serve as an alternative to traditional pay-TV services. But Apple hasn’t been able to secure the content deals needed to make it happen. Now that Dish Network (DISH) and Sony (SNE) have blazed a trail with such services, Apple once again is looking to enter the over-the-top television business. Apple is now negotiating with TV programmers and has shown demos of its proposed service, Re/code reported Wednesday.
