Microsoft (MSFT) CEO Satya Nadella continued to execute his “mobile first, cloud first” strategy Thursday, signing a deal with enterprise software-as-a-service powerhouse Salesforce.com. The two companies announced a strategic partnership late Thursday to create offerings that connect Salesforce.com ‘s (CRM) customer relationship management apps and platform to Microsoft (MSFT) Office and Windows. Terms weren’t disclosed. “We are excited to partner with Salesforce.com and help customers thrive in a mobile and cloud-first world,” Nadella said in a statement . “Working together we’ll deliver new solutions that connect the customer insights of Salesforce to the cloud productivity of Office 365, the cloud platform of Azure and the mobility of Windows, so our customers can do more.” Salesforce.com CEO Marc Benioff said the partnership is about “building bridges that allow customers to be more productive.” The companies announced a host of product tie-ups. They include Salesforce for Office 365, Salesforce1 for Windows and Windows Phone, and a new Salesforce app for Outlook.
