Networking leader Cisco Systems late Wednesday put a kicker on the end of Chief Executive John Chambers’ era with an earnings and revenue beat, which was typical of the firm under Chambers’ 20-year reign. Cisco (CSCO) said that earnings minus items for its fiscal Q4, which ended July 25, rose 7.3% from the year-earlier quarter to 59 cents, ahead of the 56-cent consensus forecast of analysts polled by Thomson Reuters.
