Apple (AAPL), Amazon.com (AMZN) and other makers of tablet computers got some good and bad news Thursday with a new report saying that tablet users will top 1 billion worldwide by year’s end but that user growth will drop dramatically over the next three years. Nearly 15% of the world’s population will use tablet computers this year — more than double the percentage of users three years ago, says a report released Wednesday by market tracker Scalper1 News
