Symantec Benefits From Long Quarter, Earnings Beat

Symantec (SYMC) used a combination of its restructuring efforts and an extra week in the quarter to post fiscal Q1 earnings late Wednesday that beat analyst expectations. Symantec stock was up 1% in early afternoon trading in the stock market today, near 24. Earlier, Symantec stock rose as much as 6.8%, to a nearly 10-month high.
