SunEdison (SUNE) announced Monday that it will acquire No. 2 residential installer Vivint Solar (VSLR) for about $2.2 billion in cash, stock and notes, the latest of several multibillion-dollar deals that are part of its aggressive strategy to become one of the world’s top alternative energy players.
