Strong U.S. Dollar Impedes Global IT Spending Growth

Global spending on information technology is expected to decline 5.5% in 2015 because of the impact of the strong U.S. dollar, research firm Gartner (IT) said Tuesday. But factoring out foreign currency exchange effects, the market is projected to grow 2.5% this year, Gartner said. Gartner’s latest IT spending forecast is down from its previous forecast in April, when it predicted IT spending would decline 1.3% in U.S. dollars and grow 3.1% in Scalper1 News
