Sprint (S), said to be near announcing an acquisition agreement with T-Mobile US (TMUS), has the radio spectrum resources to shake up the U.S. broadband market by providing new competition to cable TV and phone companies, says Citigroup. Japan’s SoftBank owns 80% of Sprint, which would face stiff regulatory review to any merger with T-Mobile.
