In early trading on Thursday, shares of Marathon Oil ( MRO ) topped the list of the day’s best performing components of the S&P 500 index, trading up 13.3%. Year to date, Marathon Oil registers a 15.0% gain.
And the worst performing S&P 500 component thus far on the day is First Solar ( FSLR ), trading down 14.8%. First Solar is lower by about 47.6% looking at the year to date performance. Two other components making moves today are CF Industries Holdings ( CF ), trading down 9.2%, and FMC Corp. ( FMC ), trading up 9.5% on the day.
