Sharp Considers Selling Recurrent Energy Unit

Electronics giant Sharp is considering selling its U.S.-based solar energy development business Recurrent Energy, and at least one news report says the buyer could be Canadian Solar (CSIQ). The Nikkei business daily reported on Sunday that Osaka, Japan-based Sharp had agreed to sell Recurrent Energy to Guelph, Ontario-based solar company Canadian Solar for about 30 billion yen ($247 million) in a deal expected to be completed early next year.
