Robot Manufacturing Invades U.S., As ABB Sees Market

After 40 years building robots in Europe, and then China, Swiss power and automation technology firm ABB (ABB) on Wednesday formally started up a robot-building operation just north of Detroit, in Auburn Hills, Mich. That makes it the first global industrial robotics company to manufacture robots in the U.S., ABB says.
