Retail video game sales toss air ball in September

Sports video games topped another down month for traditional video game sales at U.S. retail stores in September, NPD Group reported late Monday. Overall sales of new video game products at U.S. retail stores fell 9% year over year to $1.01 billion. Game hardware sales dropped 27% to $313.5 million.
