Red Hat kept up its streak of upside surprises when it reported fiscal Q2 earnings late Monday that came in ahead of analyst forecasts for at least the ninth straight quarter. Its guidance also beat views. The No. 1 provider of Linux open-source operating system software reported earnings per share minus items of 47 cents, up 14.6% from the year-earlier period and 3 cents above the consensus estimate of analysts polled by Thomson Reuters.
