Outerwall boosts profits as Redbox rentals slide

Redbox parent Outerwall (OUTR) late Thursday beat Wall Street’s profit target, but missed on sales. Shares of the automated retail kiosk operator fell Friday as DVD rental volume continued to decline. In the September quarter, Outerwall earned $2.21 a share excluding items, up 53% year over year, on sales of $512 million, down 7%. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected Outerwall to earn $1.63 a share on sales of $538 million. It was the Scalper1 News
