President Obama on Monday pressured the Federal Communications Commission to impose public utility-type regulation on high-speed Internet services, a shift that would likely draw a legislative response by a Republican-controlled Congress. The FCC is in the process of revising net neutrality, also called Open Internet rules, after a Washington, D.C., Court of Appeals ruling in January gutted much of the FCC’s authority.
