Netflix might be looking to copy another move from the playbook of rival HBO if it picks up comedian Chelsea Handler’s talk show. The New York Post reported late Sunday that Netflix (NFLX) is close to a deal with the E! channel talk-show host to make a show for the streaming video service. The format of the new show is still to be decided, the Post said. Handler has said that she will leave the E! cable network as host of “Chelsea Lately” when her current contract expires at the end of the year. E! is owned by NBCUniversal, a unit of Comcast (CMCSA). Netflix followed HBO into original programming in February 2012 with the gangster comedy-drama “Lilyhammer.” It has since added shows such as “House of Cards,” “Hemlock Grove,” “Orange Is the New Black” and “Derek.” But it has yet to offer any series recorded live like HBO’s… Scalper1 News
