Half of all U.S. homes with Internet access have a connected TV device, says a new NPD Group report, amid the continued popularity of Netflix (NFLX), Amazon (AMZN) and other online video programming. Streaming media players, gaming consoles, and Blu-Ray players are included in NPD’s connected-device count, with smart TVs in particular driving growth, said the firm.
