Metal took center stage at the annual RAPID conference in Detroit this week, Canaccord Genuity said in a research report Thursday. But this being a show dedicated to 3D printing, scanning and additive manufacturing, metal had to do with the materials for printing objects, not loud rock music. “Many participants (noted) growing adoption of 3D printers for direct part production within aerospace, medical, industrial and other industries, as well as expanding demand for metal 3D printing, especially within (additive manufacturing) service bureaus and into traditional machine shops,” Canaccord analyst Bobby Burleson said.
