Seattle passed a law Monday that would grant drivers at ride-hailing apps Uber and Lyft the right to form labor unions — the first city in the U.S. to do so. The measure passed unanimously in an 8-0 vote — though it awaits the mayor’s signature — and would allow contractor drivers that work for either firm to unionize over pay and working conditions.
