Semiconductor stocks jumped to the front Tuesday, posting some strong gains after quarterly earnings reports, amid a busy reporting schedule this week. Lam Research (LRCX) spiked 8%, jump-starting the right side of a volatile pattern. Late Monday, Lam Research topped earnings views and guided forecasts higher.
