A whopping 20 IPOs are planned this week, marking one of the busiest periods for U.S. capital markets in 10 years. The last week with more IPOs was Dec. 12, 2004, which had 21 initial public offerings, according to Ipreo, a market intelligence firm. Three energy-company spinoffs plan to begin trading Wednesday.
