Intel announced Monday it’s agreed to acquire chipmaker Lantiq to enhance broadband network technologies, particularly in the connected home market. Munich, Germany-based Lantiq makes chips and software used for broadband communications, specializing in networking technologies such as DSL (digital subscriber line), Ethernet and Wi-Fi.
