Infinera (INFN) is reaching offshore to boost its telecom fiber-optics business. The company late Wednesday said that it plans to acquire Transmode, a Sweden-based leader in metro packet-optical networking, for about $350 million. Infinera will provide about $96 million in cash and will issue 13 million new Infinera shares to Transmode shareholders. Following the transaction, Transmode shareholders will own 8.7% of the combined company. As of Dec. Scalper1 News
