In 2015, for the 23rd consecutive year, IBM (IBM) held the No. 1 position for patents received, while Amazon.com (AMZN) made a big gain. IBM was granted 7,355 patents, according to IFI Claims Patent Services, followed by Samsung Electronics at 5,072, then Canon.
