GoPro stock dives as company debuts waterproof camera

GoPro (GPRO) stock was underwater in afternoon trading Monday, hours after the company announced a tiny new waterproof action camera. The San Mateo, Calif.-based company unveiled its Hero 4 Session camera before the market opened Monday. The camera is 50% smaller and 40% lighter than its best-selling Hero 4 Black and Silver models. It features a durable waterproof design (up to 33 feet) that eliminates the need for a separate housing and has a simple one-button control. The new camera retails for $399.99 and will be available on Sunday. The Hero 4 Session captures video in 1440p resolution at 30 frames per second, 1080p at 60 FPS and 720p at 100 FPS. It also shows 8 megapixel photos in single, burst and time lapse modes. GoPro stock was down 2.8% to 50.30 in afternoon trading on the stock market today, an overall down day for Wall Street.
