A ction camera maker GoPro (GPRO) has inked a deal with the National Hockey League and the NHL Players’ Association that promises to put fans closer to the action on the ice. Starting this weekend with the NHL All-Star Skills Competition and All-Star Game, players will be wearing GoPro cameras that transmit live video for broadcast. The partnership will deliver never-before-seen perspectives of the game in high-definition video, GoPro said in a press release Friday. GoPro stock was up more than 6.5% in midday trading on the stock market today, near 51.50. The agreement is GoPro’s first with a major professional sports league.
