Mobile ads have become a primary driver of the multibillion-dollar U.S. ad market, and Google (GOOG) and Facebook are expected to cash in the most. Total media ad spending will rise 5% this year to more than $180 billion, the biggest percentage increase in 10 years, thanks to a big push from mobile and TV ad spending, says research firm eMarketer in a report Wednesday.
