Global telecommunications industry spending rose 5% to $5.1 trillion in 2013, down from a 7% increase in 2012. Slower growth in international regions offset a pickup in the U.S. market last year. Telecom spending this year is projected to rise another 5.1% to $5.37 trillion, reports the Telecommunications Industry Association.
