Generic-Drug Makers Soar, And It’s Easy To See Why

Generic-drug makers were the top-performing industry group Thursday and it’s easy to see why. Pfizer (PFE) announced it is buying one of the 17 stocks in the group, Hospira (HSP), for $15 billion. The $90 per share purchase price is a 39% premium over Wednesday’s close. That, alone, accounted for much of the group’s gain.
