Amazon.com should refund “many millions of dollars” that kids surreptitiously charged to their parents’ accounts, said the FTC in a lawsuit announced Thursday. “For years, despite this very real consumer issue, Amazon (AMZN) often allowed children to run up unlimited charges without their parents’ knowledge or permission,” Jessica Rich, the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection director, told reporters on a conference call Thursday.
