Fitness tracker interest high, but usage data troubling

Fitness tracking devices are a lot like gym memberships and weight-loss programs: Consumers show a lot of interest at first, but usage wanes over time. That is one conclusion of a Robert W. Baird & Co. survey released Tuesday. The August survey showed strong interest in fitness trackers from the likes of Fitbit (FIT) and others.
