FCC Plans Crackdown On Auction Bidding Rules

Federal regulators on Thursday proposed a cap on discounts given to small businesses when the government auctions off radio spectrum, in the wake of a review into Dish Network’s (DISH) bidding practices with two partners in the recent AWS-3 auction. Tom Wheeler, chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, also proposed placing limits on bidding partnerships that can be formed during auctions.
