Facebook (FB) has agreed to pay $19 billion for WhatsApp, a mobile messaging company with more than 450 million users worldwide. “WhatsApp is on a path to connect 1 billion people,” Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in a statement late Wednesday. Facebook will pay $4 billion in cash and $12 billion in stock. An additional $3 billion in restricted stock units — to vest in about four years — will go to WhatsApp’s founders and employees, according to Scalper1 News
