Expedia (EXPE) and Airbnb are being sued for patent infringement in federal court in the Easter District of Texas by a tech company called Encoditech. Encoditech is accusing both firms of illegally infringing on the “encryption technologies” claimed in the patent. The patent in question was granted in 2001 and originally filed by a Colorado man, Sherman Gavette. It is aimed at providing an “approach to wireless communications” between two base Scalper1 News
