DirecTV Resigns With NFL, Clears Path For AT&T Deal

Satellite TV broadcaster DirecTV Group (DTV) renewed its contract with the National Football League to carry out-of-market games on Sunday, clearing the way for its merger with AT&T (T). DirecTV reportedly will pay an average of $1.5 billion annually in the 8-year deal, according to reports. That’s 50% above the $1 billion that DirecTV had been paying under the previous contract.
