Department stores have shown strength in recent weeks, thanks mainly to group leaders Dillard’s (DDS) and Macy’s (M). Strong performances by the two have helped boost the seven-stock Retail-Department Stores industry group to No. 18 out of 197 as of Wednesday’s IBD. That’s up from No. 61 six weeks ago.
